Enable more informed clinical decisions
Easy quantification of myelin allows clinicians to follow myelination in the developing brain and monitor myelin degeneration in patients with demyelinating and neurodegenerative disorders.
Measuring myelin volume with conventional MRI is challenging.
With the REMyDI feature in SyMRI, clinicians can now get a precise and automatic volume measurement of myelin from a single 5-6 minute quantitative MRI scan. The automatic post-processing is completed in less than 10 seconds.
Measurements are comparable between patients and even across scanners as MR scanner imperfections are corrected for, providing results with high reproducibility.
Measuring myelin generation in children
Application of the REMyDI™ feature on a 7 months and 4 year old normal child. The volume of the brain and the volume of myelin is automatically measured. Local degree of myelination can be probed for each pixel.

”The advantage of retrieving a myelin estimation from a quantitative MR sequence that can also provide relaxometry-based volumetry and multiple contrasts is that a large amount of information is collected using a single, 6-minute long acquisition.
At Karolinska we have used REMyDI in studies of MS-patients and patients with neurodegenerative diseases.”
